Planting the Right Thoughts : Fruit Tree Plantation Drive ‘Mangosiam’ Begins in Devaswom Board Pampa College Parumala.
‘Mangosiam’ a fruit tree plantation drive, marked a new beginning to turn the campus green. State horticulture mission, Krishibhavan and Kadapra Gramapanchayath along with ‘Pampatheeram’ Global Community (alumini  association of D.B Pampa College Parumala) kick start the drive with the approval of Devaswom Board, planting 100 hybrid mango tree saplings in the college premises, on the banks of River Pampa.
The event started at 10:30 a.m by paying tribute to the former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Principal incharge Dr. Abhilash, President of ‘Pampatheeram’ Sebastian Joseph and General Secretary Dr. Rajeev Pillai were planted the first sapling. The grand function was colourful with balloons and inspiring with background recital of Sugathakumari teacher’s poem ‘Oru Thai Nadam’. The initial three year’s expenses are borne by the association ‘Pampatheeram’. Block Panchayath Member Liji R Panicker, Panchayath President Nisha Ashokan, Agricultural Officer Roy, Panchayath Member Robin Parumala, representatives from Horticulture Mission, Aluminis of college, Faculties and students were present in the drive.
