Extra Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities
 I. College Union
The College Union elections were held on 28 January 2015 and Reju. K.S,(chairman), Reshma Nath .R (Vice Chairman), Vishnu Kumar .C.S (general Secretary), Gokul. K.S and Vishnu Mohan.M (UUC), Devaprasad (Arts club Secretary), Ashik Viswanath (Magazine editor), Anjali .G and Keerthi .K.S (lady rep) SarathKumar. K.S (IDC Rep.), Abhijith P.S (IIDC Rep.), Vivek.R (IIIDC Rep.), Binu (IPG Rep.), Akhil (II PG Rep.) took over the college Union activities. The members took oath on 10 February 2015.The College Union was inaugurated by Shri. Anil.S, President, Rotary club Mannar and on the same day Arts Club activities were inaugurated by Kalabhavan Sinaj.

 II. College Magazine
         The College Magazine is published once in every year. This is done with a view to encourage the creative
         talents of students on literary and similar fields of academic interest. The Editor of the College magazine shall
         be elected directly by and from among the students of the College. There shall be an Editorial Board to help the
         Editor in the discharge of his duties.

         The Editorial Board shall consist of :
         1. Principal
         ii. The Editor
         iii. The Chairman of the College Union
         iv. The General Secretary of the College Union
         v. Three Student members to be nominated by the Executive Committe
         vi. Two Staff members to be nominated by the Principal

         Principal shall be the final authority in all matters pertaining to the Magazine
 III. Department Associations
Each Department of the college has its own Association. The membership of Assosiation is open to the UG & P.G. students of the respective Department.

The association which collects special subscriptions should publish at the end of the year, an audited statement of its accounts.
An Association may arrange special meetings or social functions as per the directions given by its President with the prior sanction of the Principal.
In addition to the general rules each association may have its own bye-laws approved by the college / University.
   
 
 IV. Sports day
45th Annual Sports Fest was organized on 13 February 2015, on the college Ground of our College. Dr. P.P. Chandrasekhara Pillai, Principal of our college inaugurated the sports meet and briefed the importance of sports activity for the overall personality development of the person and also motivated the students to participate in various events. The inaugural function was followed by a March fast which was led by college union chairman . All the four houses participated in the march fast with colourful and spectacular tableau. Dr. P.P. Chandrasekhara Pillai, Principal, received the salute and hoisted the flag. This was followed by oath taking which was led by union chairman and was followed by four house captains. The parade was dispersed and soon inter house games and competitions started. This year Dr.Rosy K.V.,Physical Education Director organized 60 events successfully. Apart from this Cricket, Football, Volleyball, and Badminton matches were also conducted and the greatest achievement was that we could come out with four women cricket teams in our college.
 V. National Service Scheme (N. S. S.)
The Seven Day Special Camp
The seven day annual special camp of the academic year 2014-15 of the National Service Scheme was held in the DB Higher Secondary School, Parumala from 19th to 25th December 2014. The inauguration function of the camp was held in the College Seminar hall on 18th December2014. Volunteers got engaged in various activities like yoga, Cultural entertainments, Campus cleaning, Sports competitions, Vegetable cultivations etc., and interactive sessions on various topics like Personality development, Folk songs, Road Safety awareness, Leadership Skills, patriotism etc. - all aimed at building an all round personality of the volunteers. The valedictory function of our camp was on 25 December 2014. Awards were given to the best campers (male & female), best camp group, best actor, best actress, & best camp paper. The camp helped to create a sense of harmony and unity among the volunteers.

The highlight of the camp was that it served as a platform to spread awareness on eye donation and its benefits to the society among campers, which helped them to erase various wrong notions on eye donation and convinced large no of students to voluntarily sign a pledge to donate their eyes. Programme officer Dr. S. Vani S handed over the Consent letter of the volunteers, showing their willingness to donate eye after death, to The Branch Manager, Central Bank of India, Pulikkezhu (Br.). An Oath taking on Eye Donation was also taken by the volunteers in the camp.

National Service Scheme unit of DB Pampa College Parumala organized a hearty welcome to ‘Kerala Yathra’, an ‘anticorruption parade’ led by Mr. M.M Paulose,President, Mannareth Mathai Memorial Charitable Trust on 25/02/2015 at college entrance. Dr. P.P.Chandrasekhara Pillai (Principal) welcomed Mr. Paulose by offering a jasmine garland. Prof. K.V. Rosy and Mr. Prabhakaran Nair (Renowned Social Activist), Chengannur, spoke on the occasion. After that, the program officers Dr S Vani & Dr Vijayakumar along with Prof. K.V. Rosy handed over a banner themed against corruption, which was signed by NSS volunteers, faculty members and students belonging to various departments of the college to Mr. Poulose. After receiving the warm welcome, Mr. Paulose delivered a few words to students about the worst curse prevailed in contemporary society the corruption’
Anti-Intoxicants Awareness Programme:
NSS unit of the college in collaboration with The Kerala State Excise Department, Pathanamthitta District conducted an ‘Anti-Intoxicant Awareness Programme’ in the College on 25th March Wednesday 2015. The programme started at 10.30 am. Sri. D. Chandramohan Nair, Circle Inspector of Excise, Thiruvalla, presided over the meeting. Sri K. AjayaKumar, Excise Inspector, Thiruvalla, welcomed the gathering. Dr.P.P.Chandrshekhara Pillai, Principal, officially inaugurated the seminar. Dr. A. G. Anilkumar, Clinical Psychologist, conducted a two hour long seminar about the topic “Alcohol, Smoking & Drug Abuse”. Dr Anilkumar in his lecture explained the different ways by which intoxicants affecting the normal functioning of human body, the conditions of the addicts at different stages of addiction and the various social evils arising out of it. The power point slide presentation with photos and video clippings was really effective for the students in gaining an awareness regarding the negative effects of addiction. The programme ended at 01.30pm. Dr. M. Vijayakumar, (NSS PO) proposed the vote of thanks.
Seminar on Organic Farming:
A seminar on Organic farming was organized in the college by the joint venture of the National Service Scheme, Department of Zoology and Lifelong Learning & Extension Department, MG University, Kottayam on 16- 03-2015. The seminar started at 10.30 am in the college seminar hall. Dr S. Vani, NSS PO, delivered the welcome address and Smt. S. Sreekala, HOD, Department of Zoology presided over the meeting. Dr. P. P. Chadrashekhara Pillai, Principal inaugurated the seminar. Sri. K V Dayal, Faculty member, Lifelong Learning & Extension Department, MG University, Kottayam was the chief guest of the occasion and led the seminar. After the official inauguration, Principal released a hand book on organic farming (in Malayalam) “Jaiva Krishi- Prathamika Paatangal” witten by Sri. K V Dayal. Sri. Dayal in his class shared his ideas and concepts about organic farming. The most valuable idea given by him was that organic waste should not be burned but it should be used as fertilisers. Sri. Dayal also visited the newly started organic farm of the NSS unit in the college premises. He congratulated NSS volunteers for their wonderful effort and also gave his suggestions for better farming. The seminar came to an end by 1.00pm with the vote of thanks by Mr Vishnu Nandan.
Seminar on Personality Development:
NSS unit of the College associating with Teens Club, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), organized a seminar on “Personality Development” for the NSS volunteers on 10th March Tuesday 2015, in the college seminar hall. Dr. A. G. Anilikumar, Psychologist, led the seminar. The class started at 3.30 pm in the presence of NSS Programme officer Dr. Vani S. Miss. Sherly Varghese, Volunteer Secretary, welcomed the gathering. The class was really helpful for all the participants as Dr Anilkumar could improve the self confidence and positive energy in them. The programme ended at 5.30pm with the vote of thanks by Syam SR of Ist DC Mathematics.
Incentives to NSS Volunteers
An N.S.S. volunteer holding a merit certificate is eligible for:
      a) grace marks of 10 in university examination for all courses including professional courses.
      b). A weightage of 15 marks for admission to the next higher course.
      c). A weightage of 5 marks for admission to P.G. courses.

Entry in Service - Courses
This is organized as per direction of UGC in order to help the students to locate appropriate job opportunities. Coaching classes for selection tests of various employment agencies like PSC, UPSC, Staff selection commission etc., are organized for the benefit of the regular students of the college. Dr. V. Jayasree of Department of Physics is the coordinator and the coaching classes are sponsored by the UGC.

Walk with Scholor
Walk with a scholar programme is a novel and flagship initiative of the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala. Walk With a Scholar (WWS) scheme propose to arrange specialized mentoring programs for students in Under Graduate Programs in Arts, Science, and commerce and to provide guidance for their future. The scheme introduces the idea of mentoring and builds on the concept of mentor as a ‘Guide’ and ‘Friend’. Mentoring is a personal enhancement strategy through which one person facilitates the development of another by sharing known resources, expertise, values, skills, perspectives, attitudes and proficiency. It allows the learner to build skills and knowledge while attaining goals for career development. The preliminaries of newly introduced programme, Walk With Scholar started in our institution immediately after receiving intimation from the authority concerned. Its target is to develop certain generic skills, non - technical competencies, attitudes and behaviors that contribute to a person’s sense of self and personal well - being .

 VI. ARTS FEST
The Arts festival ‘CHAMAYAM” 2014-15 was conducted on 25-26 February 2015. The programme provided an opportunity for the students from various departments to come on a common stage to display their cultural and artistic talents. The programme also aimed at promoting friendship among student from various streams and also to recognize and appreciate the rich and glorious cultural heritage of our country. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. P.P. Chandrasekhara Pillai Principal. Various Literary events, Dance events , Theatre events, Musical events were the high lights and the winners were given mementos and certificates on College Day held on 28th February,2015.
 VII. Tourism Club
The prime objective of the club is to promote awareness of tourism and also bring the knowledge of the students to the wide career opportunities that can be availed by them in future in this sector. Aims and objectives of this club is to-.
a. Generate awareness about tourism and development.
b. Ensure the participation of youth in tourism development.
c. Achieve professionalism in tourism.

D B Pampa College has entered in to the 46th year of glorious educational service to the nation. Today, the college has strength of nearly 1050 students and over 55 faculty members serving in 14 departments. The college offers 8 U. G programme and 4 P. G programmes.
