| I. College Union |

The College Union will be constituted according to the bye-laws of the University. The election to the College Union Executive Committee will be conducted as per the rules laid down by the University from time to time if the situation in the College is congenial for conducting such an election. All students of the college are members of the College Union. Principal shall be the Ex-officio Patron of the Union. The office bearers of the Union, Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Magazine Editor, University Union councillor etc. are elected by the students. |

The College Union will function for the allround development of the students. |

The advisor of the College Union shall be a member of the teaching staff nominated by the Principal. |
| • |
All expenses incurred on behalf of the College Union should be previously sanctioned by the Principal and counter signed by the staff adviser. |

| II. College Magazine |
| The College Magazine is published once in a year. All students are subscribers to the Magazine. |

The Editorial Board consists of : - |

i. Chairman : Principal
ii. Managing Editor : Member of the staff
nominated by the Principal
iii. Staff Editors : Not more than three
members
of the staff nominated by the
Principal
iv. Student Editor : Elected by Students
v. Sub Editors : One for English, Malayalam and Hindi nominated by the
College Union.
vi. College Union Chairman and General Secretary are
Ex-officio members of the Editorial board. |

In all matters connected with the Magazine, decision of the Principal shall be final. |

| III. Department Associations |
| • |
Each Department of the college has its own Association. The membership of Assosiation is open to the UG & P.G. students of the respective Department.
The association which collects special subscriptions should publish at the end of the year, an audited statement of its accounts. |

An Association may arrange special meetings or social functions as per the directions given by its President with the prior sanction of the Principal. |

In addition to the general rules each association may have its own bye-laws approved by the college / University. |

| III. Sports and Games Council |
| This council is constituted for the planning and smooth functioning of all sports and games activities of the College. It is headed by the Principal as President and the lecturer in Physical education Director as Secretary. The principal shall nominate a Vice President and three other members to the council from the teaching staff . The college Union shall nominate three members to the Council, one as General Captain and two other members from among the various house captains. Annual competitions in games and athletics will be held house-wise and the house scoring maximum points will be awarded a rolling trophy. |

| IV. National Cadet Corps (Army & Naval) |
|
| Two wings of the NCC are functioning in the College. viz. Army Wing and Naval Wing. |
Enrolment : Application for enrolment will be called for by officers commanding the unit at the beginning of the academic year.
Training : The cadets enrolled will undergo a minimum of 4 hours of training per week and attend an annual training camp of 12 days duration.
Examination : Cadets who have more than 75% attendance to their credit and have shown sufficient progress can appear for B and C Certificate Examinations conducted by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India at the end of the second and Third - year of training respectively.
Cadets will have no liablility to undertake active service but those who pass B and C Certificate examinations will be given preference for selection to the Armed Forces.
Discharge : A cadet will ordinarily be discharged from the NCC unit when he has completed two years of training or when he leaves the college.

Incentives NCC Cadets |
| a. Bonus marks for admission to various courses for NCC cadets who are in possession of certificates issued by the respective NCC Directorate :- |
1. Degree Course 15 Marks
2. P.G. Course 5 Marks |
In addition a weightage of 3 & 5 marks is given to the cadets passing ‘B’ & ‘C’ certificates examinations respectively.

| b. Grace marks for NCC Cadets |
| The M. G. University is awarding 2% to 6% grace marks for all subjects to the NCC Candits who passes NCC ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates and who to attends National Integration campus. |
Scholorships and Awards are also given to NCC cadets.

| V. National Service Scheme (N. S. S.) |
| N.S.S. is a youth welfare Programme aiming at personality development through social service. |
| Enrolment |
Application for enrolment will be called for by the Programme Officers of the unit at the beginning of the academic year. Any student enrolled as NSS volunteer should put in at least 120 hrs of social work in a year for a continuous period of two years and should attend a special camp for ten days.

| Incentives to NSS Volunteers |
An N.S.S. volunteer holding a merit certificate is eligible for:
a) grace marks of 10 in university examination for all courses including professional courses.
b). A weightage of 15 marks for admission to the next higher course.
c). A weightage of 5 marks for admission to P.G. courses.

| V. Red Cross Youth Wing |
This is a Society which undertakes Social Service activities such as blood donation, free medical camp, seminars on the evils of alcoholism, smoking, and the drug addietion. This unit has a strength of 200 student members. Prof. K. P. Omana kumari of the Department of Mathematics is the officer in charge of the unit.
